The Spotlight on Commercial Roofing – Cedar Sinai Los Angeles

Stone Roofing was proud to work on the Cedar-Sinai – Advanced Health Sciences Pavilion. The 820,000 square-foot Pavilion, located in Los Angeles accommodates 500 to 600 patients each day.  The Pavilion is designed with airy and comfortable spaces to welcome patients and visitors as they enter.

A Spray Polyurethane Foam (SPF) system was applied to insulate the massive rooftop HVAC ducting at Cedar-Sinai’s Advanced Health Sciences Pavilion, helping to achieve a LEED Gold certification. Since SPF acts as an air barrier, it also helps to reduce moisture infiltration, which is a source of dangerous mold and mildew growth and can cause severe health problems to its occupants. Coating the ducts with the seamless spray foam material creates a fully insulated, leak-free, efficient duct system.  Using a bright white coating in conjunction with foam helps to keep the sun from heating up treated, cooled air.

Roofing System:  White Urethane Coated SPF: R-value 6.7 on three sides / R-12 on the surface.
